Library of Congress, Washington DC: Music and Theatre Division (contains extensive manuscripts of lyricists and composers such as Bernstein, Rodgers, Gershwin, Porter, Rome, Adler, Berlin, Duke, Herman, Hammerstein, Arthur Schwartz, Hammerstein, Lane, Kern, Loewe, Lerner, Romberg and Previn)


Boston University: Theatre division (includes papers of leading musical theatre names, such as Rex Harrison, Fred Astaire and Robert Preston)


New York Public Library: Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center (includes a vast collection of papers connected with many of the leading theatre names of the twentieth century, such as Rodgers, Kander and Ebb, Bock and Harnick, and Katherine Hepburn)


Wisconsin Historical Society, Madison: Theatre and performing arts holdings (including manuscripts and papers of Sheldon Harnick, Arthur Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim and Herman Levin)


Yale University: Beinecke Rare Books and Manuscripts Library (contains extensive holdings on musical theatre, including major collections of Cole Porter, Kurt Weill and Harold Rome)
